Upstate Responders Receive Advanced Haz. Mat. Training

Jan. 28, 2005

Ten members of the Anderson City Fire Department recently completed a 40-hour Haz-Mat Technician course taught by the South Carolina Fire Academy at the Anderson City Fire Department Headquarters station. The training met the requirements of OSHA 1910.120, and certifies the firefighters to conduct operations in the hot zone of a hazardous materials incident.

All of the certified technicians are also members of the Anderson City Fire Department Technical Rescue Team and the Anderson County COBRA team. The course was paid for by grant funds secured by the Anderson County Department of Public safety.
