First Call of the New Year

We were requested by the Piedmont FD to assist with a possible swiftwater rescue. They had located a van in the river with the headlights and windshield wipers on. We established a Hot Zone and conducted our initial survey. The vehicle came back as stolen and appeared unoccupied. We waited on the wrecker and assisted the County Dive Team with the removal of the vehicle. This is the second call since the revision of the SOG’s on water rescue. This call went “very” well.
