Wilmington, NC.

Hurricane Floyd  did it's share of damage to the already soaked Carolina coast.

Our first mission was received by the SCEPD at 1100 hrs. on 09/17/99. We were to report to Wilmington, NC to assist the NC Highway Patrol.

The team made 1 dive/recovery and was released the next day. They returned home at 21:30 hrs.

Horry County, SC

Our team was put back on stand-by by the SCEPD on 09/19/99 due to conditions on the SC coast.

We received our second mission 09/20/99 at 1200 hrs. We were to leave for Horry County, SC and report to Chief Webster. Weather conditions turned our two hour flight into five hours. We arrived at the Conway airport at 1900 hrs. and reported to the EOC.

Our mission was to be on 24 hour stand-by for "extreme" emergency rescue situations. Our team remained in Horry County until relieved on 09/28/99 at 2100 hrs. During this time we had one call (which was cancelled) and flew one recon mission. It could have been a lot worst.
