Crews Find Submerged Truck Two Days After Crash

Man's Body Found In Pickup

ANDERSON -- A man's body has been found in a truck that ran into Lake Hartwell over the weekend

The crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. Saturday in Anderson County.

Investigators said it appears that the driver lost control in a curve and the pickup went through a guardrail on Brown Road.

Saturday, work crews repaired the guardrail, but didn’t see the pickup in the water, which was about 20 feet deep.

Monday morning, Anderson County emergency workers looking for the man sent a camera into the lake and found the truck.

The truck was pulled out Monday afternoon with the driver's body still inside.

The 47-year-old man’s name has not been released. Friends said they noticed the man was missing Saturday, but were unable to convince anyone to search the lake until Monday.
